EVENT MANAGER

JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overall management and delivery of events.
  • Manage budget reporting and accountability.
  • Manage event timelines, logistics and planning.
  • Preparation and submission of event plans including safety plans, risk management plans, traffic management plans, and food safety permits.
  • Management of permit submissions to government authorities, police, road and transport authorities.
  • Manage the load in and out of equipment, site builds and breakdowns.
  • Prepare and deliver, production schedules, course maps and site plans prior to the event.
  • Ensure all appropriate on-day documentation is prepared including event folders, contact lists, lanyards, personnel/volunteer lists, production schedules and commentary.
  • Managing casual staff and volunteers on event day.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualification in Event Management or Sports Management or similar. 
  • Personable, confident and ability to be flexible. 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects autonomously, highly organised and able to function well under pressure. 
  • Developed organisational skills, time management skills and attention to detail. 
  • Capability to load/unload multiple event equipment (<30 kgs)
  • Competent computer skills – MS Office 
  • Manual drivers licence. 

Terms and Conditions
Full-time contract employment until November 2018
Weekend work and flexible hours required.

EVENT ASSISTANT

JOBS TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Source supplier and contractor quotes.
  • Recruit, coordinate and manage casual staff and volunteers
  • Manage staffing budgets
  • Compile and process casual staff pay sheets
  • Document and report all financial variances to the Event Manager
  • Assist in the logistics of set up/pack down (pre-event, on-day and post event)
  • Support the Event Manager in managing external contractors and suppliers
  • Adhere to OH&S Legislation and SM OH&S Policy
  • Create event day documentation
  •  Prepare and deliver post-event report on staff and participant OH&S
  •  Support the Event Manager in the development of team goals and event strategies.
  •  Encourage, welcome and implement innovative ideas.
  • Assist with answering phones, email management, data entry, filing and administration duties across the business

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A high attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  •  Developed organisational and time management skills
  • Personable, confident and ability to be flexible
  • Competency in MS Office Suite

EDITOR CONTENT LEAD

About the role

We have an amazing opportunity for a hands-on editorial lead who has great energy and enthusiasm for working closely with a small team to assist in growing the Runner's World brand.

Passionate about running, health and wellness, you will predominately be managing content & flow across print, digital, EDM and social media channels of our award-winning magazine. You'll also be involved in driving audience growth through marketing campaigns in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. 

Skills and experience

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage content assets across all channels, including print, social media, digital, eNewsletters and video
  • Create, write & edit engaging content across all channels
  • Proof copy & fact checking
  • Use content management systems to post/schedule digital and social content
  • Manage & monitor social media & digital performance (analytics and trends)
  • Continue to optimise content, editorial process and efficiency
  • Work alongside ad sales to develop campaigns
  • Attend events and create social & digital stories
  • Take an active role in building relationships within the community

Skills and experience

  • Have a solid understanding for editorial content, writing, proofing and subbing in print, social & digital
  • Excellent writing skills in long and short form copy
  • Have experience in social media channels & in FB and Instagram campaigns
  • Have a good knowledge of CMS and social scheduling platforms
  • Have experience in print and digital media products
  • Be passionate about running, health and wellness
  • Be highly organised, results driven and have an exceptional eye for detail
  • Have 5+ years' experience in editorial producing engaging content
  • Have excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Have a sound knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop + InDesign)
