We're thrilled to be among the first to safely bring racing back to the Victorian community. Join us this January as we run along the peninsula's picturesque coastline.
Test yourself along the fast 4K course or sweat it out with the hilly (but stunning) 8K course and enjoy panoramic ocean and bay views.
There’s no better way to kick start your 2021 fitness goals than with a fresh challenge and some sweet views.
We've made some slight changes to the Portsea Twilight to ensure we bring you an event that is safe and memorable.
A new date
This year, the event is scheduled for the second Saturday — 9 January.

Please arrive 45-50 minutes prior to your wave start time to allow enough time to park, collect your race bib, drop your bag, use the toilet and walk to the start line.

We are committed to providing the safest possible event environment for our participants, volunteers, staff and officials. With the changing situation we ask that you keep up-to-date with the current public exposure sites and advice on how to act if you have been in these locations.
The event is proceeding as planned, in-line with government and health authority guidelines. We will continue to update participants if there are any changes as we get closer to the event.

COVID Postponement terms: Registered participants for events that are postponed due to COVID-19 by the state or local health authorities are automatically transferred to the rescheduled date. For those that the new date does not work, we will allow deferrals to the event in the following year
COVID Cancellation terms: Registered participants for events that are cancelled due to COVID-19 by the state or local health authorities, participants will have the options of either; Transfer to another Sole Motive race within the next 12 months, or refund of your Registration Fees minus administration fee of 10%. Please note, merchant booking fees on the online transaction are non-refundable.
In order to ensure capacity restrictions are met, participants will choose different start time waves (regardless of distance) — each of which will be capped at 300 people.
You will be able to select your preferred start time during the registration process. Please check your registration to view your start time / chosen wave.

At this stage, non-essential spectators will not be allowed to remain on the event site before, during or after the race.
Some exceptions apply:
Placegetters will be awarded based on net time (instead of gun time) in 2021.
Net time is the time from when a participant crosses the start line until the time they cross the finish line.
Winners of each distance will be confirmed after the last participant crosses the finish line (approximately 9pm)
You can not attend the event if you are feeling unwell, are awaiting COVID-19 test results or if you have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19.

All participants will be required to choose a start time wave during the registration process. These are the same for both distances. Participants will not be split based on distance.
Please choose the same start time as your friend/family member(s) if you'd like to start together.
Participants will be asked to be self-sufficient, if possible, and bring their own water (water bottle, hydration pack, flip-belt, etc.)
Drink stations will be will be available every 2.5km but supply may be limited.

All participants will be able to collect their race bib on race day between 11am-3pm, or at least 30 minutes prior to your wave start time.
Race bib collection will reopen at 5pm.
You must have your e ticket ready with your bib number available, if not please have a form of ID ready.
You can choose to have your race bib posted until 17 December 2020.

Your race number will be sent the week commencing 4 January 2021.
At this stage, there will no entertainment or food vendors on site.
Participants are asked to come to the event site 45 minutes prior to their race start time and to leave once they have finished.

At this stage, presentations will be conducted online following the event.
Presentations will include the top 3 Male and Female for each distance & medals will be awarded and sent via post in the week following the event.
Medals will only be awarded to the top three place getters for each gender for each distance.
At this stage, gatherings are not permitted on the event site.

NO PETS ARE ALLOWED IN POINT NEPEAN NATIONAL PARK
Dogs, cats and other domestic animals are not allowed in Point Nepean National Park at any time, including within vehicles and at special events. Guide dogs are excepted.
Participants accompanied by prohibited animals will be required to leave the park and may be subject to fines from the local authority.
There will be no on the day registrations.
