A fun run made for friends and family with a point to point course.
Starting at King George Terrace you’ll run down flat, open roads, passing by Canberra's landmarks; the National Triangle and Lake Burley Griffin ending at Rond Terrace. Relax in the village post race with entertainment for families and friends while you wind down and enjoy time with loved ones.
Please note that that this distance is starting in a different location to the half marathon, 10K and 2K kids run.

General Information
Age Limits
All children under the age of 8 years old must be accompanied by a guardian. The child’s guardian must be entered in the event.
Start Line
King George Terrace, Canberra
5k starts 9:30am
5k start closes 9:40am
PLEASE NOTE that this is a different start line than the half marathon, 10K and 2K kids run.
Will there be an awards ceremony at the end of the event and how will the top 3 place getters be awarded?
Yes, placegetters will be awarded based on gun time rather the adjusted time for each run (net time). If any runner wants to place in this event, they must start in the first wave. Trophies will be presents to participants post-race. Approximately 30mins after the winner of each distance finishes.
5K Road Cut off
5km road cut off: 10:45AM
If participants do not make road cut off times they will be allowed to complete the course on the footpaths.
Drink Stations
There will be a drink station located at approximately the 2.5km mark.
Participant Instructions
Participant instructions will be available closer to the event.
How do I get back to the start of the 5km event?
There will be shuttle buses operating from the finish line transporting participants back to the 5km start line. Please see below for details:
Pick up point: Rond Terrace, Commonwealth Park
Drop off point: Parkes Place West, Parkes
Shuttle times: The shuttle bus will run from 10:30am until 11:30am
*Please note that no animals are allowed to travel on buses
Clothing Storage
Clothing storage is available during the run/walk. Your race number features a tear-off strip for you to attach to your backpack or clothing bag. Do not leave any valuables in your bag as we cannot accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen.
We no longer offer single-use plastic bags at the bag drop, so please remember to bring your own bag to the event.
