We are committed to providing the safest possible event environment for our participants, volunteers, staff and officials. With the changing situation we ask that you keep up-to-date with the current public exposure sites and advice on how to act if you have been in these locations.
The event is proceeding as planned, in-line with government and health authority guidelines. We will continue to update participants if there are any changes as we get closer to the event.

COVID Postponement terms: Registered participants for events that are postponed due to COVID-19 by the state or local health authorities are automatically transferred to the rescheduled date. For those that the new date does not work, we will allow deferrals to the event in the following year
COVID Cancellation terms: Registered participants for events that are cancelled due to COVID-19 by the state or local health authorities, participants will have the options of either; Transfer to another Sole Motive race within the next 12 months, or refund of your Registration Fees minus administration fee of 10%. Please note, merchant booking fees on the online transaction are non-refundable.

First aid stations will be available on course and at the finish line.These will be run according to current guidelines; however we encourage participants to be self-sufficient. (Using fuel belts, hydration packs etc) All participants will be given a bottle of water to take at the finish line.
At this stage there will be no entries taken on the day of the event.
Online entries will remain open until 3pm, 27 February 2021.
At the event site on Saturday 27 February from 12 noon to 3pm Race pack Collection will be available and entries to the event on Sunday. For the purpose of Race Bib collection, please make sure you bring your e-ticket with your Race Bib number on it.
Participant Instructions will be available closer to race day.
The following age limits apply for each distance at the Sandy Point Half Marathon:
Half Marathon – Participants must be 16 years + on race day
10km – All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a guardian. The child’s guardian must be entered in the event.
5km – All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a guardian. The child’s guardian must be entered in the event
Any participant who plans on running under 4min/km for any distance can apply for a preferred start (placed at the front of the pack).

There are three options to collect your race kit:
Option 1 – Postage: If you wish to have your race pack posted to you, you must register before 11:59pm, 18 February 2021. Please note, a delivery fee of $8.95 applies.
Option 2 – Pickup from Sole Motive Retail 170 Queen St Melbourne:
If you wish to “collect from the Sole Motive store”, you must register before 11:59pm, 18 February 2021. Race packs will be available for collection from 12:00pm, 19 February 2021 until 5 pm 25 February 2021.
Option 3 – Pickup at the event site:
If you registered after 11:59pm 18 February 2021 you must collect your Race Pack at the event site on Saturday 27 February 12 noon-3.00pm OR Sunday 28 February from 6:00am . If you registered before then but cannot collect your Race Pack from the Sole Motive store you can also collect it as listed above.
Due to the requirements set out by DHHS, there will be no pacers available in 2021. You can collect from the Runner’s World marquee a pace band to assist with your pacing for the Half Marathon and 10k events.
If restrictions change we will update participants as soon as the information is available.
Due to the rolling start, placegetters will not be awarded based on gun time but rather the adjusted time for each run (net time). Medals will be sent to participants post-event.
The nearest train station to the event site is Brighton Beach (on the Sandringham line) and is just a short 3-minute walk to the event site. Please refer to Public Transport Victoria for further details and to plan your route.Given it is a Sunday and the event is early please be aware there is minimal services available.
Sole Motive will provide plenty of at the event site. Please make sure to bring your own lock to ensure your bike is secure.
Car parking is available in the side streets of Beach Road and in the Green Point, Brighton car park.
Plenty of parking is also available at Dendy St. Access to the side streets of Beach Road and the Green Point, Brighton car park is only available from the North end of Beach Road (the city end).
Car Park fees apply and are approximately $13. Please park legally and be aware of parking restrictions in the area.
